What's Next?
Apr. 15th, 2012 07:00 pmWell, that was the heading of the choices. I also can personalize the journal, upload icons, and other items that can wait till later, when I need more distractions.
Wow, this does look a lot like lj. I'm hoping to keep up with this and friend people I actually communication with on a semi-quasi-regular basis. (Poor livejournal)
Hmmm... What else to say? I don't want to start off on to sour of a note as I think of all the impending doom that I must accomplish in the next month. I went camping!
Yesterday, the geek-group went on a trip I planned/led. We camped at Hone Quarry, complete with awesome neighbors and cool Rangers! It's in the George Washington National Forrest, close to West Virginia. The campground is a mile from a Quarry, ie. water-filled basin where rocks were dug. They now stock trout. A few people went fishing. The rest of us went for a hike. We had good camp-fire food (ie. hotdogs and so many chips). Free Thinkers, another JMU geek kind of group, were camping nearby as well. Apparently all the "college-aged" folks of the camp ground had the same idea close to sun-set: go to the top of Reddish Knob. It's a mountain top that you can drive to, albeit a little sketch in areas. (I saw a cougar there once!) But there were us, Free Thinkers, and another group I recognized from the camp area at the top. We hiked around the top, but missed out on the sunset because of the clouds. Back at camp we had some singing fun and tasty smores :) There was silliness into the wee hours. I had a long moment of wanting to go out to the Quarry to see the stars because the sky had cleared. Instead I finally went to sleep :P The morning was also good, despite some chilliness, which just gave us an excuse to have a morning fire.
Currently, as I type, my roommate's cat (all 15 pounds) is trying to squeeze himself into my backpack. O.o I guess it smelled good? Who knows. The dogs were excited to smell my feet when I got back and collapsed on the couch.
Alright, here's to writing! Here's to reading! May this keep up a bit better than before :)
